This exceptional lot comes from the two-acre farm of Mr. Tuei, nestled in the highlands of Kericho County, Kunyak Ward.

Lot 20 Coffee is a Kenyan coffee company based in Kericho County. Established in 2019, Lot 20 specialises in exporting and processing high-quality coffee, with a focus on experimental fermentation techniques.

Working directly with smallholder farmers across several counties, the company is known for its innovative approach, deep community involvement, and commitment to transparency.

Lot 20 began collaborating with Mr. Tuei in 2023, drawn in by his thoughtful approach to cultivation and his wealth of experience, over three decades working across different roles in the coffee industry.

What makes his farm particularly special is a rare orchard of Blue Mountain coffee, one of the oldest in the region.

These trees are direct descendants of the first Blue Mountain variety planted by settlers in Kenya’s rich, fertile highlands.

Mr Tuei is known to his friends as Barng’etuny, which in the Kipsigis dialect means the Lion Slayer.

Together with him, Lot 20 is working to increase the production of this beautiful Blue Mountain coffee, with the hope of encouraging others to rediscover and revive a variety that has quietly slipped out of favour in Kenya’s coffee landscape.
