Danilo Barbosa Brazil

This naturally processed Yellow Catuai coffee comes directly from Danilo Barbosa’s farm in the Cerrado Mineiro region, Brazil.
Danilo Barbosa and his sons, Marcelo and Sérgio, represent the fourth and fifth generations of a family deeply rooted in coffee farming since 1930.
What began as a small crop for family consumption grew into a lifelong passion, thanks to Danilo’s father, Jairo Barbosa. Jairo recognised coffee’s potential to be more than just a household staple-it became the heart of the family’s livelihood.

His goal was simple yet profound: to share the joy of gathering around a table with a cup of coffee crafted with care and love. Today, that vision lives on. For Danilo and his family, every cup reflects years of dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Their farm remains a true family operation, including trusted collaborators who have been with them for over two decades. With time, experimentation, and persistence, the family has struck a balance between tradition and innovation—an approach that has earned them significant recognition.
Danilo was awarded first place in the prestigious Cup of Excellence in both 2021 and 2024, and their coffees regularly place among the top in quality competitions.
This particular lot was harvested at peak ripeness, then carefully laid out to dry on raised beds.
For the first three days, the cherries remained untouched to initiate fermentation, and were only turned for the first time on the fourth day.
Danilo employed a slow drying process by covering the cherries with shade cloth, allowing the coffee to gradually reach its ideal moisture level over 22 days.
